Johnny Depp filed an appeal Wednesday against paying Amber Heard $2 million.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star was awarded $10.35 million in damages after a defamation lawsuit last June — in which a jury found his ex-wife lied in a 2018 Washington Post article claiming she was the victim of domestic violence. The Aquaman actress was awarded $2 million in the same suit after jurors ruled that Depp had defamed her through her previous lawyer before the proceedings.
New court documents obtained by Fox News reveal that Depp asked the actress to appeal $2 million in damages, saying the court “should vacate the judgment on the claim for damages and interest” in the defamation case, but surprisingly, he was happy with the decision that awarded him $10.35 million.
“However, the trial court was faced with a number of novel and complex legal and factual issues, and while the trial court decided the vast majority of these issues reasonably and fairly, some decisions were erroneous,” the document reads. . .
The request specifies that the alleged defamation of Johnny Depp’s camp was carried out with the mediation of the lawyer Adam Waldman and that the actor is not responsible.
