Tagine, Ryan Gosling’s successful Moroccan restaurant in Los Angeles

In Morocco, this is the information Ryan Gosling fans have been talking about for days. According to some media, the actor would have recently opened a Moroccan restaurant in Los Angeles. Yes, he did, but in 2006.

The Canadian actor has owned a Moroccan restaurant for fourteen years in the famous Beverly Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles for which he chose the name “Tagine”.

Contrary to popular belief, the restaurant does not only serve tagines, but also other popular Moroccan dishes. Couscous Royal, Quefta (minced meat,editor’s note), Moroccan salads, or the famous pastilla are all the dishes you can find on the menu of “Tagine. »

A menu that was formed by the Moroccan chef Abdessamad Benameur nicknamed Ben. The latter, according to the restaurant’s website, took his first steps in the kitchen with his mother in Morocco, the place where he was born and raised. The current chef of “Tagine” was a food custodian before taking this job.

After cooking for a big Hollywood event, Chef Ben was able to catch Ryan Gosling’s attention through his dishes. The latter told the Moroccan that this is the food he would like to eat for the rest of his life.

In 2006, the two men joined forces to realize a 100% Moroccan project in the heart of Los Angeles, in which celebrities such as Meryl Streep, Collin Farrell, Salma Hayek and of course the Eva campaign came to eat.
